How to ... Bulgogi (불고기)

on Wednesday, August 17, 2011
Hi everyone,

previously, I showed some Dosiraks containing Bulgogi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulgogi), which is marinated beef. Sometimes I marinate chicken, turkey or beef Bulgogi-style, too.

So first, buy some beef (for 4 people: 600 g), chop one big onion and 4 cloves of garlic. To make the beef really tender, also chop one Kiwi (yeah, that's right!):

Stuff everything into a tupperware container. Now mix neutral oil (like sunflower oil), sesame oil, sesame seeds, salt, cane sugar and soy sauce in a separate bowl. If you want, you can add some Gojugaru (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook:Gochugaru), too. Pour the oil-mix over the meat until everything is covered in the marinade.
Close the container lid and let the whole thing rest in your fridge for a night. Now it's ready for the BBQ or the pan!

Oh, and Bulgogi is really great when enjoyed like this: Take a lettuce leaf, put some rice on it and some Bulgogi. put Ssamjang (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ssamjang) on top and wrap the lettuce into a tiny package. That's not very pretty, but very very tasty (and actually typically Korean). Enjoy!!!
